Very true. <3 I'm proof with my own lover. I'm in Canada, he's in the United Kingdom. But we just got engaged after almost four years of being together and we can't wait for the day we're together at last again. <33333333333
I'm in a long distant relationship with some in New Zealand, I'm in California. I met him studying abroad last year and I'm going back to him after I graduate :3 Thanks for reppin' all the long-distance lovers!
I've been engaged to my fiance from Europe (I'm in the US) for about a year and a half now. The visa process is tough, being apart for so long is tougher, but love will find a way, and once we're together it'll have been worth the wait!
Long distance relationships are unique and requires patience, time and effort in order to keep in touch. It may not be as easy as the face to face contact, however, through consistent messages and emails does help. The distance doesn't seem as bad; today it seems that many people have long-distance friendships and it's a wonderful thing to have in our lives. I know I have a dear friend in India and he's a wonderful person and I've known him for a year and a half. It's great to share thoughts and feelings and feel that connection over distance.
It's easy to respect Long Distance Love/Relationships especially when you're in one yourself. It's very hard for other, especially those who are not or have never been in one. The key is patience, understanding, communication, dedication, and pure love and commitment. Distance doesn't matter in love, love matters in love.
My boyfriend and I met on a mission trip three years ago, stayed in touch afterwards, fell in love, and we've been together for the past three years. And we haven't even seen each other since we met! ...good God, you're right, I do need a hug... DX
Ohh, we were at a Native American reservation in South Dakota. His church youth group from Iowa came, then mine from Minnesota, and a couple other groups. We were only toether for like, a week, but it was long enough for us to become friends.
Up until just this weekend, my mom and sister were skeptical of my relationship with just because they've only heard negative stories of how they supposedly don't work. I've been with him for a year and finally got to see him on saturday and let me tell you I've never been nearly as happy in my entire life as I have been this entire weekend- it's an overwhelming emotion. Prior to this meeting and us being in a relationship, we were (still are) and have been friends for over five years now.
We live only 5 hours apart, it feels so close yet so far. The meeting was worth it and I look foreward to going down to see him in April.
I love this stamp, I'm in a long distance relationship. I'm in South Carolina and My love is in Ohio. Only 9 hours away, but we're both too poor to go see each other now, but the wait is going to be worth it after high school.
i this stamp. you said you liked the little stories the stamp brought you??? well, heres mine: i'm 14 he's a year younger. a friend of mine's bestie was really lonely and so was i... so he introduced us and on valentines day this year i finally plucked up the courage to ask him out!!! i'm really glad i did, we're like two lost souls bound together... remove the physical contact (ie: lust) and two people generally form a much stronger bond. im SO glad theres only a four-hour car journey between us, and every relationship has its good and bad points, so why does distance have that much stigma attatched??? anyway, we're both going through hard times at the moment but we support each other. he's like mr. darcy without the angst!!! there is someone for everyone out there, you just have to look very hard to find them. and once you do, there is no garuntee that theyll even speak the same language as you. the beauty of it is that you are both going through the same sense of distance, which, i think, brings you even closer together. best wishes.
good luck everyone, and remember: "absence makes the heart grow fonder" XXX
hi, i would just like to ask if i can post this on i and my boyfriend's joint blog which is [link] ?
i will credit you and post a link to your deviantart account, if you'd allow me to.
anyways, i really love this stamp. my boyfriend and i are in a long-distance relationship. we're actually time zones apart. but we believe and we know that we will last. long distance relationship works, people. keep it up!
I thought it'd be stupid to do a search for 'long distance relationship' on dA, but this stamp proved me wrong. Thank you so much for making it~
Just being nosey through the existing comments, I'd like to point out hearing you and your partner have been together for so long gave me a little bit of the faith back. It's such a relief to hear all the heartache can be worth it~ Congratulations for making something so difficult work so well~ Actually, a big ol' thumbs up to everyone that's shared their stories here. I hope everyone is lucky enough to overcome their distance~
You're welcome, and thank you for your lovely comments. ^_^
I feel strongly about it because there are so many people who will just tell you "oh no, long distance relationships never work" and that's not true. You have to have a superhuman amount of strength and committment, but you end up valuing the person you have so much more at the end of it all. It's not impossible, it is hard, but the kind of people who make it work are the special ones.
I can use this one two, even though I'm not in a long distance "relationship". We're on a break while she's on the other side of the earth as an exchange-student (Her idea).
However it's been 6 month now (5 more to go!) and we have both said no to several offers from others and she just wrote to me saying that she loves me, I replied the same and without her knowing, there's a valentines card coming her way through the mail , so it's still "Long distance love" as the stamp directly says
I support long distance relationships, keep it going! And long distance love
